Fast Track To Work (FTTW) at Cabrillo College provides support to CalWORKs, WIA (Workforce Investment Act), and Food Stamp recipients, as well as Career Technical Education/Teacher Preparation Pipeline students.
CalWORKs is the county assistance program for low income families with dependent children. WIA benefits are available to students on unemployment seeking new job skills. CalSUCCESS is a pilot Food Stamp program to reimburse for books and transportation. CTE/Teacher Preparation Pipeline identifies future teachers and gives them an opportunity to start their career pathway to teaching by starting at the Community College level.
Services include: one-on-one orientations, academic and personal counseling, referrals to campus and community services, financial assistance with childcare, books, supplies, transportation and other required materials.
Cabrillo is a big and, sometimes, impersonal place, especially if you're trying to find someone who can help you with a specific question, issue or problem. Fast Track To Work can help. We pride ourselves on providing fast, friendly, personalized help to students who want our assistance. Our bulletin boards, resource binders and pamphlet racks are filled with useful information. You can come in and browse on your own or talk with one of our staff.
Need a referral for help with your CalWORKs case, a health concern, volunteer and internship opportunities, domestic violence, women's organizations, emergency aid?... Not sure who to talk to at Cabrillo? We can help you find the right person to talk to.
